TUCKSHOP

Our Tuckshop is open 5 days a week, during term time. Orders can be placed online, up to 3 months in advance, or at the Tuckshop window, from 8am - 8:45am each morning. Food can be collected at either first and / or second break.

Children in Prep will have their orders delivered to the class room during Term 1 - 3.

LOADED LUNCHBOX

This ‘Loaded Lunchbox’ is packed full of everything students may want for lunch. Each lunchbox contains a sandwich, piece of fruit, juice box, homemade muffin and popcorn. All for only $6.

These items can be customised if you order online or over the counter prior to 8 am cut off. Order online via QKR or over the counter at Tuckshop.

MENU

Our menu is designed to provide healthier food choices for students. Many of the items on our menu are made 'in house' from fresh ingredients to provide the best flavour and nutritional value.

Special Dietary Requirements

We can cater for children with special dietary needs if advised in advance. All meals are nut free and most meals are egg free. While we attempt to avoid any allergy foods in our cooking, traces may be found in foods during the manufacturing process.

HOW TO ORDER

To reduce food waste, you must order all meals. Only a few items are for sale over the counter. You can order online via Qkr! or drop your order in person before school.

Please note that Tuckshop orders for the day close at 8:00am so please ensure that you place all orders before this time. You can order multiple days in advance, for multiple children, all the in the transaction.

In person
- Collect a bag from the Tuckshop window. You will need a separate paper bag for 1st and 2nd breaks. On the bag clearly write the following:

First or second break
Child’s name
Class
Menu items
Costs

- Pay by either cash or EFTPOS.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!

The Tuckshop cannot run without volunteers, and we require help especially on Fridays. If you have free time on any day of the week, please contact the Tuckshop via email tuckshop@wishartsspnc.org or just pop in for a chat.

There are many jobs that we need help with, big and small. If you don't feel confident serving customers then you can help in the kitchen, preparing food, packing bags, etc. If you don't feel comfortable handling food then you can serve customers, collect orders or distribute orders to prep. If you can give 30 mins of your day, that is really appreciated. If you can give several hours, then that would be amazing! The Tuckshop is child friendly, so if you have any children not at school yet, they are more than welcome to join you! Of course, Dads, Grandmas and Granddads are always welcome too!

HEALTHY CHOICES

Wishart State School parents have developed a Healthy Lunchbox Guide.

The examples in the Healthy Lunchbox Guide show some practical and realistic examples of healthy lunches packed by Wishart parents that follow the recommendations from the Australian Dietary Guidelines. Additionally, there are plenty of handy tips and easy to follow quick recipes.

Children of different age, gender, height, weight and physical activity level require different amounts of food. To account for these differences, the Australian Dietary Guidelines have a document called 'Healthy Eating for Children' which outlines the number of serves and serving sizes from each food group.
