About the Wishart SS P&C Association

The Wishart State School Parents & Citizens (P&C) Association exists to support the ongoing development and improvement of Wishart State School for the benefit of all students, teachers, staff and our wider local community.

Working in partnership with school leadership, we help build a positive, connected and well‑resourced school environment where every child can thrive.

Who We Are

Our P&C is made up of parents, past parents and community‑minded individuals who share a common goal — supporting our school and its students.

All members of the P&C are volunteers, generously contributing their time, energy and skills to help make Wishart State School a welcoming and successful place for all families.

We understand that family life is busy, with work, study, extracurricular activities and other commitments. Even so, being involved in the P&C — in any capacity — is one of the most meaningful ways to show children that their education matters. When children see adults actively supporting their school, it sends a powerful and lasting message.

What We Do

The Wishart SS P&C plays an important role within our school community. Our key functions include:

  • Supporting the school through close collaboration with the Principal and staff

  • Strengthening connections between parents, carers, students and staff

  • Providing advice and support on matters relating to the general operation and management of the school

  • Raising and managing funds to deliver facilities, resources and services that directly benefit students

  • Operating key services such as the Tuckshop, Uniform Shop and Outside School Hours Care (WOSHC)

For more information, please refer to the Wishart State School P&C Association 4‑Year Plan (2026-2029).

Our Executive Team

The P&C Executive works collaboratively to guide the strategic direction of the association and ensure our activities align with the needs of the school community.

  • President

    Linda Caswell
Hi, I’m Linda, I’m excited to introduce myself as the new P&C President and proud parent of two Wishart students—you’ll often find me around the school, especially near the coffee van, happily chasing its nectar!
In my spare time I enjoy being creative, urban gardening (in pots), and relaxing with podcasts or Netflix. I’m also a proud supporter of the MS Society and a big cat lover.
I believe our school community plays a vital role in our children’s lives, and together we can make it a safe, fun, and inspiring place to learn and grow. I look forward to connecting with families and helping make this a fantastic year.”

  • Treasurer

    Brendan Jackson
“Hi, I'm Brendan and I'm stoked to be serving as the new Treasurer for the P&C. I’m an accountant by trade and have spent my career working in and leading government finance teams. I have two daughters at the school and I'm a big believer that if you can make school a place where kids want to be then good things will happen.
Rumour has it I may have originated one day following the crash of an absurdly complex spreadsheet others say I only appear to people in need around tax time, and spend the rest of his time sleeping in a tax-deductible calculator shaped box—but all agree, I am here to help and continuing the great work the P&C does.”

We warmly welcome all families to get involved — whether regularly or occasionally — and be part of making a meaningful difference at Wishart State School.
